Overview
Problem
Goal tracking is overwhelming for a large number of people. People set unrealistic goal timelines for themselves and get discouraged when they don't meet the deadlines.
Responsibilities
I created storyboards, wireframing, interacted with development for technical feasibility, created a low-fidelity prototype, and iterated with key stakeholders through development.
Project Length
(2 months) The project was started with a one week design sprint. From there it was presented to stake holders with a subject matter expert in the room. After two more weeks of iteration and presentation the stakeholders were pleased with the work and the product went onto prototyping phase where it was tested, iterated and tested until there were no more questions or pain points.
My Role
Lead User Experience, lead team in User Interface Design, Research, Low, Mid and Hi Fidelity Prototyping, User Journey Map and Graphic Design. Research and style guide were provided prior to design.
User Journey Map
Having the user journey map helps show what is crucial for the user. The user journey map is also a simple competitive audit, showing what we could improve on to make Better Sound stand out.
User Flow
A clearly defined user flow helps us spot and eliminate dead ends, pain points, or confusing steps where users are having trouble.
User Personas
User personas play a crucial role in user-centered design by fostering empathy, informing decision making, guiding prioritization, ensuring consistency, advocating for users, and optimizing the user experience. They serve as a valuable tool for designing products and services that truly resonate with and meet the needs of the target audience.
Impact
The app, designed with a user-centered approach, helps users define clear and specific goals. By providing guided prompts, frameworks, or interactive tools, it supports users in articulating their aspirations and mapping out actionable steps towards achievement. This clarity and focus increase users' motivation and commitment to their goals.
What I learned
Not being able to do my own initial research is not always a bad thing. The data provided gave me the ability to create, journey maps, flows and personas that helped me understand the view point of the user and better design the app with them in mind.
